A bit about us

Over the past 60 years, DECA has touched the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals. What started as a few students looking for more opportunities in the business world, DECA now has over 250,000 all across the world. Despite such successful expansion and growth, DECA’s mission has stayed true and focused. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA enhances the co-curricular education of members through a comprehensive learning program that integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business and promotes competition. DECA’s activities assist in the development of academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders.

Hey everyone!

DECA welcomes the incoming freshman Class of 2014!

We just want you to know that DECA is not just a club, it's a lifestyle. We spend a lot of time having fun, competing and just fooling around with friends. All of our conferences are near exciting places. This year, for DECA's International Career Development Conference, we will fly to Orlando, FL (yes, Disneyworld!) to meet and compete with over 14,000 students from around the world!

No other organization can offer all of what MVDECA can!

Fun conferences: Our conferences will be in San Ramon, Santa Clara, and Orlando (Florida) this year!
Behind-the-scenes tours: We annually conduct tours of local attractions, including but not limited to:
- Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco: Learn about our nation's financial system and spend time at Ghirardelli Square, Pier 39, and Westfield's San Francisco Shopping Center.
- Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM): Tour a world-class fashion institution, followed by an excursion to several well-known boutiques in San Francisco.
- EA Games: Purchase games from $10 apiece after learning more about the company!
- New! Ritz-Carlton San Francisco: Experience one of the top hotels in the world and learn how it is run!
Exciting fashion: DECA's Fashion Division is already making a name for itself, landing coverage in local newspapers.
We are freshmen strong: Our freshmen have beaten sophomores, juniors, and even seniors in Norcal and States AND INTERNATIONALS from EVERY chapter of California. In 2009, freshmen Ajay Agarwal and Johnny Chin took 3rd place at our International Career Development Conference ("ICDC"), outperforming over 200 of the world's best entrepreneurs in competition. Last year, freshman Alok Singh placed 1st in the world in a finance competition as well!
Leadership opportunities: With a strong competitive side, MVDECA shows that its students are ambitious and have the qualities of a leader. No other organization can match our opportunities to show and develop your leadership skills!
Strong community impact: We work with the Rotary Club and the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce at popular Cupertino events, including the annual Fall Festival.
Meet new friends: No other orgnization our size can offer the networking opportunities we provide. Meet upperclassmen who don't bite, talk with industry professionals, and make friends from across the state -- or the nation -- or the world! After spending time doing events, conferences, competition, study sessions, we are very attached to many of our members.

We look forward to welcoming you into our family -- a family of competitive prowess that is eager to help you invest in your future. Please join us for free pizza at our first meeting on September 1 at lunch in the Gym.
